The networking cocktail was organised by the Forum for the Automobile
and Society together with the European Internet Foundation and the
Financial Forum. The Parliamentary Fora are independent platforms
bringing together major
stakeholders to discuss topics related to mobility,
the financial market and the internet. They do not
advocate a specific point of view but rather aim at facilitating and promoting
the exchange of information and of good practices.
Malcolm Harbour MEP opened the evening with a short introduction on the
three fora and welcomed Mr Barroso, President of the European
Commission. Mr Barroso acnowledged the role of the parliamentary fora
in bringing together stakeholders, engaging them in
debate and reaching consensus.
Further speeches were delivered by
leaders of the three fora: Martin Callanan MEP, Pilar del Castillo Vera MEP and Wolf Klintz MEP. They presented the organisations, their publications and the future events.
The networking cocktail was well attended by MEPs and stakeholders from the Brussels scene.
