This event highlighted the importance and great interest for the subject of alternative road transport fuel. It showed that our society was still a long way from the post-petroleum world. In the context of the food price crisis of the past year when biofuels went from hero to zero it is clear that biofuels have a strong role to play in a flexibly regulated road transport fuel market, as free as possible of subsidies.
