Forum for the Automobile and Society Competitiveness event
We are writing to you on behalf of the Forum for the Automobile & Society, an organisation founded to bring together stakeholders in the Automotive Community, including motorists, car makers, dealers, component suppliers and automotive logistics. The Forum holds regular public meetings in Brussels to stimulate debate on policy issues affecting the future role of the automobile. We are delighted to invite you to our next meeting which is organised on the premises of the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU on Tuesday 10th February 2009.
Our next debate will focus on the next stage of the vehicle industry's evolution, following the hoped for agreement on the CO2 Package. The working title is "The Competitiveness of the Automotive Industry and Climate Change". We would like to debate the tasks now facing the industry in the light of the new regulation, the long term legislative framework and the opportunities presented by a stable regulatory framework as advocated by the CARS21 process.
The Forum for the Automobile & Society has invited the Commission Vice-President Gunter Verheugen and Commissioner Dimas who confirmed their coming. A distinguished panel of stakeholders will contribute to the debate.
As always, there will be time for questions and participation from our audience of policy-makers, manufacturers, environmental groups, and other interested parties. For more details about the Forum, please also visit our website http://www.autoandsociety.com/.
More details on the programme will follow in due course. I will be pleased to address any enquiries you might have in the meantime. We very much hope that you will be able to join us.
